The VXR-5000 is a frequency-synthesized, microprocessor-controlled commercial-grade repeater designed to provide reliable, continuous 2-way communications over a wide range of environmental conditions. From single-use applications to large system and trunking configurations, the VXR-5000 integrates well into almost any communications system. Designed for easy installation in EIA-Standard 19-inch rack mount cabinets, the VXR-5000’s rugged construction utilizes high-grade components throughout.
The Vertex VXR-5000 repeater was purchased using $2,192.25 allocated by the Auburn University Concessions Board. Our proposal was approved on November 15, 2001. This included funding for a RI-310 repeater controller, programming kit, and a 25 Watt repeater. This system replaced a 21 year old Midland Aircraft band repeater donated to the club by the Auburn Airport. It originally operated at 25 Watts out output, but at UHF frequencies could only be operated at 3 Watts. The Midland Aircraft repeater also had failing components due to its age.
